On average, a trip for two adults with children (tickets plus a hotel) during the holidays will cost 98 thousand rubles. Popular foreign destinations include the UAE, China, Egypt, Turkey and Japan. According to experts, in general, the demand for travel to China among Russians has tripled in 2025. Where else are Russians going and how much will it cost to rest during the autumn holidays — in the Izvestia article.

Where is it cheaper to relax during the autumn holidays

The Leningrad and Moscow regions became the leaders in the number of bookings among tourists for the autumn holidays (starting on October 25 and lasting until November 2), analysts of the Avito Travel service calculated for Izvestia. Popular destinations include Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol, Tatarstan, Karelia and Yaroslavl Region.

The number of bookings for October 27, 2025 increased by 48% compared to the same period last year, the Russian Union of Travel Industry reported.

The northern capital is more often chosen by residents of Moscow and Yekaterinburg, according to the online travel service Tutu. On average, such a trip for two adults with a child with tickets and a hotel will cost 98 thousand rubles.

— A trip during the autumn holidays lasts an average of four nights. The residents of Yekaterinburg turned out to be the most economical — they spend about 30 thousand rubles on such a trip. Parents from Krasnodar are ready to allocate 45 thousand rubles, from Rostov-on-Don — 57 thousand rubles, from Moscow — 69 thousand. Kaliningrad families spend the most — about 100,000 rubles for three people," said Igor Sivets, a member of the board of directors of the online service.

The number of hotel and apartment bookings in October 2025 increased by more than one and a half times compared to the same period last year, the Yandex Travel service noted. Moreover, 73% is accounted for by domestic destinations. The top domestic vacation destinations in October included the Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Kaliningrad, and the Stavropol Territory.

In a number of tourist regions popular in October this year, the average price per night decreased by 3-4%. According to Avito Travel analysts, it is most profitable to rent an apartment during the autumn holidays in Karelia, Tyumen, Kaliningrad regions and Stavropol Territory — on average from 3 to 4 thousand rubles per day. And the daily rent of country houses is most affordable in the Krasnodar Territory, Kaliningrad, Yaroslavl regions and Stavropol — from 7 to 9 thousand rubles.

Which foreign destinations do families choose?

In 2025, the demand for trips abroad with children during the autumn holidays increased by 5% compared to the same period last year, Elena Shelekhova, head of the press service of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service, told Izvestia.

The UAE, Thailand, China, Turkey and Japan are among the popular countries where Russians will travel with their children during the upcoming holidays. They will also travel to France, Italy, Belarus, Spain and Georgia. In general, in 2025, the number of Russian families vacationing abroad is expected to grow by 28% compared to last year.

At the same time, in some countries, according to analysts of the Yandex Travel service, Russians will be able to relax cheaper. Compared to October 2024, the average price per night decreased the most in hotels in Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Greece, and Egypt. Most often in October, travelers go on a trip together, with the exception of the Dominican Republic, where they travel with an average of four people.

The demand for travel to China, where visas have been canceled since September this year, has tripled in 2025, Elena Shelekhova said. According to "Fly.<url>", on average, a trip with children for the autumn holidays to China will cost 154 thousand rubles, to Egypt — up to 268 thousand rubles, to Turkey — up to 265 thousand rubles, to Thailand — up to 187 thousand rubles, and in Russia — up to 92 thousand rubles.

"In addition, we are seeing an increase in demand for tours to China by 3.2 times, to Vietnam by 3.1 times, to the Maldives by 2.7 times, and to Cuba by 2.3 times," added Maria Zhuravleva, head of the travel booking service for Russia and the world, Tourslet.

How have Russians' preferences changed?

In the fall of 2025, Moscow and St. Petersburg remain the number one destinations for families with children, while Kaliningrad Region, Sochi and Kazan are also among the leaders, Aleksan Mkrtchyan, Vice President of the Alliance of Travel Agencies of Russia, confirmed to Izvestia.

— They are going to see not only Moscow itself, but also the Moscow region. And in the Leningrad region, tourists with children choose Gatchina, Pushkin, Peterhof Palace. Many people visit Tsarskoye Selo, where Alexander Pushkin studied, because it is interesting for children," the expert noted.

In addition, Russians are now going to the mountains en masse — discounts are available for children's groups during the autumn holidays. Altai, Sheregesh, Dombai, North Ossetia and Dagestan are in the highest demand. And more and more families with children prefer to get to the resort by bus. In 2025, the demand for such transportation increased by 20%, noted Aleksan Mkrtchyan.

The autumn holidays coincide with the end of the velvet season, Dmitry Gorin, vice president of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, told Izvestia.

— In many resorts, the sea is still warm, and the weather is relaxing. Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey are popular among foreign destinations, where, according to our estimates, the velvet season will last until mid-November. Long—range destinations, such as Thailand and Vietnam, are also in demand," he noted.

In the autumn of 2025, the demand for foreign trips increased by 20-25%, and for travel in Russia — up to 6% compared to the same period last year. China is one of the top 5 popular destinations. As Dmitry Gorin noted, Russians most often choose Hainan Island, and Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are out of competition among those who like excursions.

—There are 215 flights a week from Russia to China, and they are operated by both domestic and Chinese airlines, which is a large volume," said the PCT Vice President.

If you plan your trip in advance, you can significantly save on the cost of tickets, he noted.
