Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), announced on September 25 that Russian troops had captured Seversk.

"Seversk is already in the fire bag. Our forces are bypassing the city from the north, south and west sides," Kimakovsky said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are trying to transfer reserves to this sector of the front, as heavy fighting continues there.

On September 24, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that fighters of the Southern Group of Russian troops destroyed the main part of the blocked AFU group at the Kleban-Byk reservoir in the DPR, the remnants number about 80 people. It was clarified that initially the grouping of enemy troops in the village of Kleban-Byk, which the Russian army approached the day before, numbered about 800 people.
