Viktor Momotov, Chairman of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation, appealed to the commission of the Council of Judges with a request to verify information disseminated in the media about possible violations of anti-corruption legislation. This was reported on September 23 in the Telegram channel of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation.
"Momotov appealed to the commission of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation for the implementation of anti—corruption measures, conflict of interest resolution in off-duty relationships and in the exercise of their powers by judges in order to verify information disseminated in the media," the report says.
Momotov said that after the official notification of the receipt of the relevant claim in court, he is ready to provide all necessary explanations and documents.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Ostankino District Court of the capital received a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation against Momotov. According to the source of Izvestia, as part of the lawsuit, the agency requires the seizure of real estate registered to third parties. The judge registered the acquired real estate and business with trusted and controlled persons, without declaring his income. The Prosecutor General's Office allocates tax evasion from businesses for more than 500 million rubles as a separate source of income.
