Russian troops have taken control of about 65% of buildings in Kupyansk

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces are successfully continuing the liberation of Kupyansk. This was announced on September 23 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, 5,667 out of 8,667 buildings in the city have been taken under control. It is noted that at the moment, Russian troops have surrounded a large enemy group from the northern and western directions, forming a semicircle.

Over the past month, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have suffered losses amounting to more than 1,800 soldiers, 36 tanks and armored vehicles, two MLRS launchers, as well as 137 field artillery and mortars during the defense of Kupyansk.

On September 17, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Commander of the United Group of Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov announced that the Zapad grouping of Russian troops was developing an offensive in the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region.

On September 3, the Russian Defense Ministry released footage of the Russian-controlled territories of Kupyansk. It was noted that at the moment, about half of the city's territory is under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
