The Central Bank warned about scammers masquerading as couriers of marketplaces
Fraudsters began to pretend to be couriers of marketplaces in order to gain access to bank accounts. This was announced on September 23 by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on its website.
"Attackers call people under the guise of employees of popular marketplaces or couriers. They inform you about the delivery of the already paid goods and ask you to confirm receipt. If a person tries to explain that they did not buy anything, the scammers make it clear that the order was most likely issued as a gift by someone they know and that there is no mistake with the recipient," the regulator said in a statement.
