Voronezh Peter the Great International Airport is ready for full-fledged operation if restrictions on the use of airspace are lifted. This was announced on September 22 by the Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, in an interview with TASS.

"Despite the temporary restriction on flights, our airport maintains the state of the equipment and the airfield, <...> therefore, with the lifting of restrictions on the use of airspace, the airport can begin full—fledged work," he said.

According to the head of the region, the date of the airport's commissioning will depend on the airlines. Gusev also said that the equipment and staff are currently preparing for the autumn-winter period.

Earlier, on September 11, Krasnodar Airport opened for flight service. The Ministry of Transport recalled that it had not operated flights since the end of February 2022 for security reasons. Later, Aeroflot launched ticket sales for flights to Krasnodar from Moscow and other regions of Russia.

On September 17, the first plane landed ahead of schedule at Krasnodar Airport after the airspace was opened and flights resumed.
