Shvydkoi called SHAMAN's refusal to be evaluated at Intervision a right step
The request of the author and performer Yaroslav Dronov (Shaman) not to evaluate his performance at the international music competition "Intervision" is a noble act and confirms his "spiritual health". This opinion was expressed on September 21 by Mikhail Shvydkoi, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation.
"This is absolutely the right step, because the jury is always influenced in one way or another by the atmosphere in the country where this kind of competition takes place. The influence of the public is also important. <...> Therefore, it seems to me that it was an absolutely noble and right step," TASS quoted him as saying.
Shvydkoi added that, despite the fact that many may regard such a request as a violation of the rules of the competition, "life is wiser and richer than any rules."
The final of Intervision was held in Moscow at the Live Arena. SHAMAN participated from Russia with the musical composition "Straight to the Heart" by Maxim Fadeev. Alexander Ovechkin, a Russian hockey player and captain of the Washington Capitals NHL club, was announced as the cultural ambassador of Intervision 2025. The hosts of the final of the competition were performer Alexey Vorobyov and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Aida Garifullina.
Later, SHAMAN asked the Intervision jury not to evaluate his performance. It also became known that the singer Vassy, representing the USA, will not be able to perform in the final of the competition.
The winner of the contest was Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc. The NOMAD trio from Kyrgyzstan took the second place. The top three is completed by the representative of Qatar, Dana Al-Mir.
