Zelensky announced the appearance of separate assault troops in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On September 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the decision to create separate assault troops.

"As for the stormtroopers, we have assault battalions and regiments that are showing good results in 2025. We decided that we need to go to the legal level. <...> Now we will create separate assault troops, the decision has been made. Preparations are underway now, I think that in a week or ten days everything will be ready," the Ukrainian online publication UNIAN quoted him as saying.

He clarified that we are talking about modern assault troops, including a drone component and other elements.

On September 19, Zelensky announced Ukraine's readiness to export weapons. According to the president, some types of modern weapons are produced in the country in a much larger volume than is required on the battlefield. On September 17, Verkhovna Rada deputy Georgy Mazurashu announced Zelensky's intention to fight to the last.
