Cheboksary Mayor Vladimir Dobrokhotov resigned just five days after promising Cheboksary residents to do a lot for the city. He announced this on September 19 in his Telegram channel.
Before that, on September 14, Dobrokhotov published a post thanking the residents of the city for their support and noting that he was proud that they were "one team."
"I am proud to be with you <...> we have done a lot of important things and we will do even more!" he wrote.
However, on September 19, the mayor announced that he had new tasks and announced his resignation.
Earlier, on September 15, it was reported that the mayor of Krasnoyarsk Vladislav Loginov, accused of taking bribes in the amount of 180 million rubles, submitted his resignation. According to investigators, in the period from 2018 to 2024, he received more than 180 million rubles from the CEO of a commercial organization, including in the form of payment for the construction of a bathhouse on his site.
