The donkey Zhorik, who carried the shells on his back, found a new home in Veliky Ustyug

Zhorik the donkey, who for a long time lived with the 1430th Guards regiment in the special operation zone and helped carry shells, has found a new home in the branch of the Moscow Zoo in Veliky Ustyug. This was announced on September 16 at the Moscow Zoo.

"In early September, a new resident arrived at the branch of the Moscow Zoo, the Zoo in the patrimony of Santa Claus in Veliky Ustyug. The donkey Zhorik has settled here, whose fate is connected with difficult trials," the zoo said in a Telegram channel message.

It is noted that after the redeployment of the unit, it was impossible to take Zhorik with them. According to the zoo's press service, the donkey is quickly getting used to the new conditions. He has already begun to get used to zoologists and reacts calmly to the new environment.

"Zhorik's story is a reminder that care and attention can change an animal's life. We are glad that the Moscow Zoo was able to give him a new chapter full of safety and care. For now, he lives in a branch in Veliky Ustyug, where he is undergoing quarantine and recovering. After adaptation and examinations, we plan to transport him to Moscow, to the main territory of the zoo, where Zhorik can become a favorite of our guests," said Svetlana Akulova, General Director of the Moscow Zoo.

Earlier, on June 4, Nastyusha, the aga toad from the Moscow Zoo, married a male named Vanyusha. The zoo staff arranged a real ceremony for amphibians: they dressed them up in festive outfits and made decor for the aviary.
