The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommended to abandon the name "mead"

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia recommends that the authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation abandon the name "mead" when holding the All-Russian Festival of Russian Cuisine. The advisory information follows from the methodological recommendations developed by the Ministry for the organization of the festival, which were reviewed by TASS.

"It is recommended to refrain from pejoratively naming "mead", instead offering historical "honey", "nutritious honey", "honey honey" ("I was there, honey, I drank beer, but I only wet my moustache")," the document says.

It is noted that the use of the name "shish kebab" is acceptable along with the historical "meat on a spit", "meat on a spit", "ridge" and others, it is noted in the recommendations.

According to the ministry, in cooperation with the participants of the festival, work should be carried out to restore the historical significance of the names of the dishes. The guidelines were developed by the working group on the popularization of Russian cuisine at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and sent to the executive authorities of all subjects of the Russian Federation.
