Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in a sermon after the Divine Liturgy at the St. Daniel Monastery in Moscow on September 12, recalled that his father baptized Russian President Vladimir Putin. He noted that this event is a sign of God's presence in their lives.

"It is impossible not to mention our president <...>. Vladimir Vladimirovich lived not far from the Transfiguration Cathedral in St. Petersburg, in what was then Leningrad, where my father served. And it turns out that later they found out and proved that it was my father who baptized Vladimir Vladimirovich," the patriarch said.

He also noted that this could not be a coincidence. This is a "sign of God's presence in our lives."

The Patriarch also expressed gratitude to the Russian leader for his open profession of faith and concern for the Orthodox Church. According to him, Putin lives a Christian life, while not hiding his membership in the church. In addition, the President of the Russian Federation helps the church within the framework of the law.

On September 7, Patriarch Kirill called on believers to revive the tradition of family participation in religious processions, as they serve as evidence of faith. It is specified that the Moscow-wide procession ended at the walls of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow. The believers covered a route of about 6 km.
