On September 15, the Supreme Qualification Board of Judges (HCCC) of the Russian Federation will consider the application of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov on the recommendation of his candidacy for the post of head of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Information about this follows from the agenda of the HCCC meeting, published on the board's website.

"To be considered on September 15, 2025 (Monday): <...> Igor Viktorovich Krasnov's application for recommendation as a candidate for the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation," the message says.

It is specified that the extraordinary meeting of the HCCC will begin at 9:30 Moscow time.

Chairman of the Board of Judges of the Russian Federation Nikolay Timoshin announced on August 25 that Krasnov had applied for the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia.
