Doxing continues to pose a serious threat to the security of users around the world. This was announced on September 6 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

They noted that thousands of people become victims of illegal collection and dissemination of personal data every day, which often leads to blackmail, psychological pressure and fraud. This threat is especially active in messengers and social networks, where dozens of specialized channels are engaged in doxing.

"The practice of doxing is especially dangerous when government agencies or organizations affiliated with them become the initiators or coordinators of such campaigns. In this case, the scale and consequences can be much more serious — from targeted information attacks on critical infrastructure facilities to the destabilization of the socio-political situation," the department's Telegram channel says.

Earlier, on September 5, the agency reported that the attackers began sending messages to pensioners with instructions allegedly to increase pensions. It is specified that they come under the guise of notifications from the Pension Fund. UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs recalled that from January 1, 2023, the organization, together with the Social Insurance Fund, was merged into the Social Fund of the Russian Federation.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
