The nuclear triad is Russia's competitive advantage. This was announced on September 5 by Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation, during the session "500 years on the horizon: from discoveries to innovations of the Northern Sea Route" at the Eastern Economic Forum — 2025 (WEF-2025).

"[Russian President] Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] spoke most of all about the other main advantage, the competitive advantage of the Russian Federation, which is the nuclear triad," he noted.

According to Likhachev, in this sense, Russia continues to strengthen its advantage. He expressed the hope that its availability would help solve other problems.

The head of Rosatom also stressed that a number of tasks will have to be solved in the coming decades, including the cost of borrowed money, since from 2028-2029 the state corporation will have to increase borrowing to finance the construction of nuclear power plants.

Earlier, on August 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the creation of a reliable nuclear shield by Russian nuclear scientists. According to him, Russian veterans of the nuclear industry created it thanks to their talent. He also noted that they were the first in the world to ensure that the peaceful atom worked in the interests of the whole world.

The jubilee Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on September 3-6 at the Far Eastern Federal University campus. This year, the main theme of the forum is "The Far East: cooperation for peace and prosperity."

In his greeting to the participants, organizers and guests of the X WEF, Putin noted that over the past decade the WEF has rightfully earned a high reputation.
