The world's largest iceberg A23a has lost about 36% of its area in three months, splitting into pieces. This was announced on September 1 by the press service of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI).
"The world's largest iceberg A23a lost about 1,000 square kilometers over the summer and split into pieces. Three huge pieces with an area of 60 to 300 square kilometers simultaneously broke off from the giant iceberg," the report says.
