Putin supports Xi Jinping's global governance initiative

Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the global governance initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 1. He stated this at a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"We have certainly listened attentively to everything that is proposed by Mr. Xi Jinping to create a new, more efficient and functional global governance system...> Russia supports the initiative of President Xi Jinping. And I am interested in starting a concrete discussion of the proposals made by our Chinese friends," the president said.

He also noted that this initiative is relevant in an environment where some countries still do not give up their desire to dictate in international affairs.
