Moscow is not going to start a military conflict with Paris, but French President Emmanuel Macron wants a war with Russia. This was stated on Saturday, August 30, by French writer and philosopher Michel Honfret in an interview with Europe 1.

"[Russian President Vladimir] Putin does not want a war with France. [Macron] understood very well that France was not part of [Putin's] plan, this is not his goal. It's Macron who wants war. You know, like little dogs that bark," Onfre said.

The writer stressed that lawyers are trying to explain to the French that Macron's presidency is necessary "because of circumstances," however, from Onfre's point of view, Macron considers the escalation of the threat of military conflict as the very circumstance that will ensure his retention of power.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that European leaders were hindering US President Donald Trump's efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine peacefully. According to him, the actions of European politicians are in stark contrast to the approach of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the American leader.
