Since 2022, Ukrainian refugees have been illegally receiving social benefits in Poland. This was reported by Mysl Polska newspaper on August 27.

"Since the beginning of the <conflict> in 2022, Ukrainians have been stealing from Poles as part of the 500+ allowance, and organized groups of Ukrainians have been coming to Poland to receive benefits through ATMs in Przemysl," the article says.

The 500+ program provides for a monthly payment of 500 zloty (about 11 thousand rubles) for each child under the age of 18. The publication also notes that the benefits should be intended primarily for Polish families in order to slow down the decline in the birth rate in the country. The authorities intend to strengthen control over their intended use.

As a result of illegal activities on the part of Ukrainian refugees, the Polish budget has lost at least 30 million zlotys. Only 10% of Ukrainians returned the money, Mysl Polska writes.

The Strana newspaper reported on August 27 that a conflict was growing in Poland between the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the office of President Karol Nawrocki on the issue of assistance to Ukrainian refugees. Minister of Digital Technologies Krzysztof Havkowski, in turn, accused the Polish leader of allegedly "supporting Russian imperialism" in Ukraine, which was the result of the president's veto on assistance to unemployed Ukrainian refugees.
