An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred on the territory of Afghanistan, the epicenter was located in the province of Badakhshan. This was announced on August 27 by the Center for Seismic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan in its Telegram channel.

The ministry clarified that the earthquake was recorded at 18:57 local time (16:27 Moscow time). It occurred at a depth of 160 km. The force of the tremors at the epicenter was 3 points.

At the same time, in eight regions of Uzbekistan and in Tashkent, concussions were felt at the level of 2 points. In the border region of Surkhandarya, which is located 342 km from the epicenter, the tremors reached a force of 2-3 points.

The authorities did not receive information about damage or casualties.

On August 25, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred in the south of Kyrgyzstan near the city of Osh. The first tremors were recorded at 22:59 Uzbek time (20:59 Moscow time). The earthquake was located at a depth of 15 km, 343 km south-east of Tashkent. Later, on August 26, another earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred in the country. At the epicenter, the force of the tremors was 5 points.
