The body of a newborn baby with an umbilical cord was found in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region. This was reported on August 23 in the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU IC RF) in the region.

It is specified that the baby was found at a landfill of solid household waste.

"On this fact, the investigative department for the city of Vsevolozhsk of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Leningrad region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a newborn mother")," the publication says in the Telegram channel.

The press service of the department notes that all the circumstances of the incident will be established.

Earlier, on June 5, in the village of Dubrovka, Vsevolozhsky district, Leningrad region, janitors found a baby in a package. It was clarified that the child was found due to crying. According to the investigation, a 15-year-old girl gave birth to a child and threw him out of a first-floor window. The schoolgirl was charged with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "b", Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder of a minor").

On June 10, a minor girl was released from the hall of the Vsevolozhsk city court. Then the court refused to satisfy the investigation's request for a measure of restraint.
