In January-July 2025, the Federal Tax Service increased revenues to the budget of the Russian Federation by 7% or 2.4 trillion compared to the same period last year. This was announced by the head of the Federal Tax Service Daniil Egorov at a meeting with Vladimir Putin. Thus, the total amount of income amounted to 34.3 trillion rubles. He also spoke about tax deferrals for enterprises of the Belgorod and Kursk regions, which were introduced on behalf of the president.

What was discussed at the meeting

In the first seven months of this year, the Federal Tax Service transferred 34.3 trillion rubles to the budget of the Russian Federation. Thus, it increased financial revenues by 7% or 2.4 trillion compared to the same period in 2024. At the federal budget level, revenues increased by 5%, largely due to non-oil and gas revenues. Their growth amounted to 27% or 2 trillion rubles.

The head of the Federal Tax Service clarified that the IT industry has become one of the best in terms of revenue. "We have very good indicators in the manufacturing industry, there are almost half a trillion. Also in the financial sector, the construction sector, and trade. And our IT sector has also entered the top five," said Egorov. At the same time, Putin drew attention to the construction sector: "builders seem to have dropped a little in volume, but nevertheless ..."

On behalf of the President, the Russian Federation also has deferred payments of taxes and insurance premiums for 12 months in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. The total amount of deferred payments for the two regions amounted to 7 billion rubles. The same approach is applied in the coal industry, where $47 billion in deferrals have been granted.

Finally, starting in 2025, organizations based on the simplified taxation system (USN) with an annual income of over 60 million rubles have become payers of value-added tax (VAT). These changes affected more than 180,000 Russians. According to Egorov, the Federal Tax Service has tried to make them more comfortable for citizens. "We even removed fines and the suspension of account transactions in case of failure: we were worried that not everyone would be ready for this innovation," he said. As a result, only 2% of taxpayers failed to report.
