Krylia was cut: the club's budget was reduced by 500 million rubles
The Krylia Sovetov Football Club will have a budget of half a billion less next season-2025/26 in the Russian Premier League (RPL) than in the previous few years. Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, the governor of the Samara Region, told Izvestia about this. He also shared the details of the trial with Rostec and explained his vision for the development of the Lada hockey team.
"The budget for next season will definitely cover all the current needs of the club"
A possible reduction in funding has been discussed since the end of last year, when the head of the region made a series of high-profile statements regarding excessive budget spending on professional sports and corruption in football.
—The budget of Krylia Sovetov has been reduced by about 500 million rubles," Fedorishchev told Izvestia. — But some partners who enter into agreements with the club are determined by the volume of this integration, so adjustments are still possible. The final budget will be formed within a month and will amount to about 2.2 billion rubles for the coming season-2025/26. Before that, it was 2.7–2.8 billion rubles per season — in different years it was different, but about the same amount. The budget for next season will definitely cover all the club's current development needs.
The head of the region also spoke about the relationship between Krylia Sovetov and Rostec. In January, the arbitration court received a claim from RT-Capital LLC, a subsidiary of Rostec, for debt collection from the club in the amount of 897 million rubles. It was noted that the repayment period of the amount expired back in 2016. The loan agreement itself was signed back in the late 2000s, when Rostec was the main sponsor of Krylia Sovetov.
"As I said, we will give the loan to Rostec,— Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said. — Moreover, we started giving it at the beginning of the year — the first tranche of 100 million rubles was made in January, when the company submitted the relevant requirements. Then the colleagues decided to go to the courts, which is quite fair for such a 15-year-long process. I want to say that Rostec and RT-Capital previously supported the club financially and administratively. We must pay tribute to the fact that this support has always allowed the club to be strong. Therefore, here are only words of gratitude to the company and personally to its head Sergey Viktorovich Chemezov, under whose leadership the company is present in our region and helps him. Our task is to repay our debts, which is what we are doing. There will be another court hearing soon, when the amount of debt to be paid will be determined. And we will pay it.
"We are waiting for the entire hockey vertical to work in a single bundle"
The governor of the Samara region spoke about the expectations from the performances of the Lada hockey club (Tolyatti). In May, in the presence of Fedorishchev, the club signed a partnership agreement with Polyplast. According to this document, over the next five years, Lada, which plays in the KHL, its farm club in the VHL, CSK VVS (Samara), the Ladya youth team from the MHL, the club's academy and the emerging sledge hockey team will receive 5 billion rubles in their budget.
— We are waiting for the team to show beautiful hockey, — said Fedorishchev. — To ensure that the entire hockey vertical works in a single bundle. To ensure that talented young people who want to practice this sport receive appropriate opportunities in Tolyatti and Samara. Accordingly, this five-year partnership with Polyplast means that the teams will have no problems with financing. A strong management staff came there — managers and coaches. Therefore, we are looking forward to the next season and hope that all the teams in this vertical will please us with a good game and the development of talented hockey players.
Recall that in May, Alexander Kharlamov, who previously held a similar post at Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, took over the post of Lada CEO. Sergey Gomolyako, who worked at Metallurg Magnitogorsk and won the Gagarin Cup with it a year ago, has been appointed Sports Director. The head coach was Boris Mironov, ex-coach of Spartak Moscow, who reached the Gagarin Cup final last spring as an assistant coach of Traktor Chelyabinsk.
