About 1.9 million tourists will visit Dagestan in 2024, the increase amounted to 15%. This became known at the meeting of Vladimir Putin with the head of the republic Sergey Melikov. The economy is also developing successfully: according to the data for 11 months of last year, the growth of industry exceeded 6%, and agriculture - 7%. How many grapes are grown in Dagestan and what Vladimir Putin and Sergei Melikov remembered at the meeting - in the material of "Izvestia".
What was discussed at the meeting
Dagestan demonstrates success in the economy: according to data for 11 months of 2024, industry has grown by more than 6%, agriculture - by more than 7%, said Sergei Melikov. In addition, the region has gradually begun to raise wages: on average, it has increased in nominal terms by 15% and is more than 40 thousand rubles. In real terms - by 4.1-4.2%. The volume of investments for nine months increased by almost 16% by the same period of 2023. "Most importantly, we have implemented the budget for 2024 by 97.6%. This is a very good indicator for Dagestan. We rank 14th among the subjects of the Russian Federation, which we have not been able to achieve before", - drew the attention of Sergei Melikov.
Tourism is also actively developing. Last year 15% more travelers came to the region - about 1.9 million, said the head of Dagestan. To improve the tourist infrastructure, the authorities are planning to build 28 hotels at the level of three or four stars.
Vladimir Putin pointed out that the production of grapes in Dagestan is almost half of the total in Russia - 42.1%. Sergei Melikov confirmed that in 2024 the republic harvested more than 300 thousand tons of grapes from its vineyards, reaching the figures of the Soviet Union for the first time in the post-Soviet period. Last year, Dagestan also planted a hazelnut orchard of almost 2.5 hectares. "This is the largest hazelnut orchard in the country, and we claim priority positions in Europe for our producers, for confectioners including taking into account import substitution it will be a great help", - believes the head of the region.
At the expense of extra-budgetary sources this year will begin work on the construction of a rehabilitation center for 200-300 beds for severely wounded servicemen. Vladimir Putin instructed Sergei Melikov to constantly engage in providing assistance to the heroes and participants of the SVO. "Do not forget about them, constantly have to deal with it personally," the President emphasized.
Vladimir Putin and Sergei Melikov also recalled last year's presidential trip to Derbent and the subsequent meeting of the head of state with a girl from Dagestan, Raisat Akipova, who failed to get through the crowd and communicate with the president during his visit. Her reaction spread in the media, after which she was invited to Moscow, where she met with them in person. "The family is very beautiful, a good family," the president recalled.
