Arkhangelsk region supplied 3.3 thousand drones to the NWO zone

The Arkhangelsk Region intends to double the volume of diamond mining: the region plans to obtain about 40% of all such precious stones in the Russian Federation. This became known on November 26 at Vladimir Putin's meeting with Arkhangelsk Governor Alexander Tsybulsky. The head of the region also noted that the region had completely reoriented to new markets after the EU sanctions, as well as supplied 3.3 thousand drones to the special operation zone. Vladimir Putin drew the governor's attention to the fact that the share of emergency housing in the region is several times higher than in other subjects of the Russian Federation.

What was discussed at the meeting

The economy of the Arkhangelsk region has completely reoriented to new markets: until 2022 the region's industry was mainly aimed at exports to the European Union. Last year the GRP growth reached 0.3%, this year the authorities forecast an increase by 1.3-1.4%, in 2025 - by 2-3%. Vladimir Putin stated that unemployment in the region has fallen to a historical minimum. According to the head of the region, it has fallen to 1%.

The authorities are actively developing tools to expand urban development potential in the region. However, Vladimir Putin drew Alexander Tsybulsky's attention to the remaining problems with emergency housing. "Your construction is developing very successfully on the whole, but still the problem of emergency housing remains insufficiently resolved. The share of emergency housing is several times higher than in other regions of the Russian Federation," the President said.

The Arkhangelsk region is one of the seven subjects that from next year will be included in the project on geological exploration of subsoil using the mechanism of public-private partnership. First of all, the region is focused on diamond mining: experts predict a minimum doubling of reserves, Alexander Tsybulsky said. If today the Arkhangelsk region provides 20% of diamond mining in the Russian Federation, it is expected to reach 40%, he emphasized.

The Arkhangelsk region has established and launched the production of drones. For two years the region has supplied 3.3 thousand drones to the line of contact in the special operation zone. The region has also created a training ground where fighters who have signed a contract with the Defense Ministry are trained in firearms, engineering and tactical training for five to ten days. On a permanent basis work and with the sponsored Melitopol, where they have already managed to restore 30 objects. "The changes are quite significant. We do not stop this activity for a second, despite any, sometimes budget difficult, situations. All the time we continue this activity, because we realize that it is important today," the governor said.

On the basis of the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University and the Northern State Medical University the region has started construction of a world-class campus. As the region, according to the Governor's estimates, is forming the leading centers of competence - woodworking and pulp and paper industry - it is necessary to create a leading center of competence in shipbuilding, because Severodvinsk provides 48% of all production capacities of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Alexander Tsybulsky reminded. Against this background, the head of the region asked the President to give a corresponding instruction to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
