Victory Windows – 2025: how to decorate a window by May 9th, templates

In 2025, a large patriotic action "Victory Windows" is taking place in Russia. Izvestia recalls its essence and tells the details of the event.

The Victory Windows first took place en masse four years ago, when coronavirus restrictions were in effect in the country. Russians could not gather in large groups, but citizens wanted to share the joy of celebrating May 9th.

This is how the idea arose to decorate apartment windows with portraits of relatives who fought at the front, drawings, the national flag, and a copy of the Victory Banner. As in the case of New Year's snowflakes, the adults attracted the youngest family members and told them about the importance of the holiday.

Since 2023, children have already started participating in the Windows of Victory campaign all over the country. In this regard, parents are interested in how to decorate the windows more beautifully for the next anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

There are no strict rules. On the windows, you can place portraits of your hero relatives with or without a name, the inscriptions "May 9" and "Happy Victory Day!".

Pictures made with paints or colored pencils are welcome — patriotic and spring ones.

You can hang Russian and Soviet flags nearby, draw them on paper, or decorate glass.

In addition, you can carve red stars, white doves, balloons, fireworks, St. George's ribbon, the number "80", corresponding to the number of years that have passed since the significant Victory Day.

Not only children can participate in Victory Windows, but also all family members. It would be symbolic if each family member added their own decoration element to the windows.
