In 2026, the national calendar of preventive vaccinations for children in Russia remains unchanged. Doctors note that vaccination will continue to be carried out according to current rules, and the list of mandatory and additional vaccinations will remain the same. Details can be found in the Izvestia article.

What vaccinations are given to children in 2026

In 2026, the current procedure for preventive vaccination of children remains in place in Russia. The national vaccination calendar has not changed and continues to be applied in the form in which it was approved earlier. This means that the child immunization system remains stable and based on existing regulatory documents.

As a pediatrician from the Polyclinic network of medical centers told Izvestia.<url>" Elena Stebletsova, medical organizations continue to work within the framework of the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia No. 1122n.

"The calendar of preventive vaccinations for children in 2026 remains unchanged," the expert noted, specifying that the 2023 edition of the document applies.

According to the expert, the current calendar covers all key age groups and is aimed at preventing the most dangerous infectious diseases that pose a threat to the health and life of children.

The National Preventive Vaccination Calendar is the main guideline for doctors and parents. It defines the list of mandatory vaccinations, the timing of their implementation and the conditions for vaccinations.

In 2026, the structure of the calendar has not changed, which, according to experts, indicates its effectiveness and relevance. Elena Stebletsova explained that the calendar is formed on the basis of the epidemiological situation and long-term observations. It is mandatory for use in public medical institutions and is used in private clinics when providing medical care to children.

Mandatory vaccinations for children: a complete list

The list of mandatory vaccinations in 2026 remains the same. It includes vaccinations against tuberculosis, hepatitis B virus, pneumococcal infection, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, hemophilic infection, measles, mumps and rubella.

According to the doctor, these diseases are included in the calendar because of the high risk of complications and spread.

"In 2026, vaccines against tuberculosis, hepatitis B, pneumococcal infection, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, hemophilic infection, measles, mumps and rubella will remain mandatory for children," Stebletsova stressed.

In addition, vaccination against influenza is provided for epidemiological reasons. "According to epidemiological indications, annual flu vaccination is also provided," the expert added.

Vaccination calendar by age

Vaccination begins from the first days of a child's life. Newborns are vaccinated against tuberculosis and hepatitis B in the hospital. In the first months of life, vaccination against pneumococcal infection, whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, polio and hemophilic infection is carried out, followed by routine revaccinations.

At the age of one year, children receive vaccinations against measles, mumps and rubella. In preschool and school age, vaccination continues as part of the revaccination, which is necessary to maintain the formed immunity.

As noted by Elena Stebletsova, parents can also carry out additional vaccinations at their discretion. This includes, in particular, vaccination against rotavirus infection, which can be started from the age of six weeks. Additional vaccines include vaccines against meningococcal infection, chickenpox and viral hepatitis A.

At the same time, updated drugs will be used in practice in 2026.

— If earlier we vaccinated against rotavirus infection with Rotatec, now it is Rota-V-Aid, — said the doctor. She also clarified that instead of the meningococcal Menactra vaccine, the MenQuadfi drug is used, which can be used to vaccinate children from the age of six weeks according to various schemes.

Experts note that following the vaccination calendar remains one of the key factors in preventing infectious diseases and protecting children's health.
