Every year on January 18-19, scientists record anomalies in water around the world: the pH rises by 1.5 points, electrical conductivity decreases, molecules form an ideal crystal lattice, and bacteria do not multiply for months — properties close to the water of the Jordan River, where Christ was baptized. It is believed that these changes peak after midnight on Epiphany Eve due to the Earth's natural electromagnetic factors, making the water softer, more energetic and resistant to spoilage if properly stored. Details of scientific discoveries about Epiphany water can be found in the Izvestia article.

Physical anomalies: pH, structure, and energy

Research conducted in laboratories like the Institute of Sysin and Altai State University have recorded an increase in the number of radical ions in the water since January 17, with a peak in the evening of the 18th, when the pH rises 1.5 points above neutral (7), making it less acidic and milder than usual. The electrical conductivity drops to a minimum, which suppresses the growth of microorganisms, and when frozen, symmetrical crystals with an ideal lattice are formed, unlike chaotic ones in control samples. These changes are observed in any water — from a tap, river, or temple — on the night of Epiphany, regardless of the consecration.

Scientists of the Association of Orthodox Scientists annually compare samples before and after midnight: an ordered molecular structure is recorded in Epiphany water, which increases biological activity and the ability to regulate cell metabolism.

Reasons for longevity: Bacteria, Silver, and Nature

Epiphany water does not spoil due to the winter minimum of microorganisms in the springs, low electrical conductivity that suppresses bacteria, and silver ions from priests' crosses - Ag+ destroys pathogens, as confirmed by microbiological tests. Organic impurities are minimal in frosty water, and magnetization from the Earth's magnetic anomalies on January 19 enhances stability: samples are stored clean for years in glass when cool. Control experiments show that ordinary water rots in 2 weeks, but Epiphany water does not if it is clogged.

Russian laboratories associate the phenomenon with a global electromagnetic effect: the water on the planet "calms down", reducing surface tension and bacterial growth, especially on Epiphany according to the Julian calendar. The Church sees in water the grace of the Holy Spirit from the Great Blessing of Water, healing the soul, while science describes physical effects without a spiritual explanation — the harmony of faith and facts.

There is also a critical, skeptical approach. His representatives point out the methodological problems of many popular "experiments": the small number of samples, the lack of "blind" measurements, incorrect statistics, and the confusion of scientific terms with esoteric interpretations. From their point of view, the main reason for durability is the purity of water in winter and compliance with simple hygiene rules: a set in the cold, a glass container, a dark and cool storage place. Everything else is the result of expectations and suggestions. This view is sobering from the extremes, but it often underestimates the cultural and spiritual context of the rite, its impact on people's behavior and their way of life.
