Cheating and insults: the scandals of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant

The scandals surrounding the Miss Universe 2025 pageant have become one of the most discussed topics of this year, overshadowing even the very result of the show. One of the most high-profile episodes was the behavior of the vice-president of the competition, Navat Itsaragrisil. In early November, during a closed-door meeting in preparation for the contest, he publicly chastised Mexican participant Fatima Bosch for her absence from a sponsored photo shoot and, without letting her finish, called her "stupid," effectively forcing her to leave the event. Moreover, the Council demanded the expulsion of all those who disagree with the rules of the competition and are not ready to participate in all events.

"If you don't want to participate in the contest, get up and leave!" he said.

As a result, Fatima Bosch left the hall, followed by several more outraged contestants. The incident caused a strong reaction on social networks and the media, after which the main directorate of Miss Universe issued an official press release apologizing and condemning the actions of Navat Itsaragrisil, suspending him from further participation in the preparation. The organizer himself later gave a press conference, where he admitted that he had said too much, explaining his behavior by emotional overload.

The accusations of former jury member Omar Arfush, who left the competition with a scandal and publicly accused colleagues and the organizing committee of corruption and a "predetermined" distribution of places among the finalists, caused a significant resonance. According to Arfush, even before the official jury arrived, the top 30 participants were determined by secret and illegal voting. In addition, there was a person among the voters who was in a romantic relationship with one of the contestants, which excludes the objectivity of the selection.

Omar Arfoush stated that he is currently exploring the possibility of filing an official complaint. According to him, the issues under consideration include fraud, abuse of power, conflict of interest and reputational damage.

Finally, the results of the contest and Fatima Bosch's victory were also criticized on social media and called undeserved. A lot of angry comments appeared on the official accounts of the contest.:

"Winning the title only because you have connections", "The one who should have won won", "Very disgusting", "Worst Miss Universe in history", "Fraud", "Worst dress, lazy answers, puny body, zero projection", "Did not deserve the crown".

The organizers officially rejected these suspicions and stated that the selection took place according to transparent and strict protocols.
