A terrible tragedy has occurred in St. Petersburg. A young blogger from Ukhta named Vladimir staged a massacre in the apartment of his former classmate. The incident was officially reported on Tuesday, October 14, at the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in St. Petersburg. Now the investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. It is known that even before the crime, the guy repeatedly gave alarm signals — his relatives could notice that he had serious psychological problems. For more information about the events and the course of the investigation, see the Izvestia article.

A cry for help

In St. Petersburg, a 19-year-old Ukhta resident brutally murdered his friend and former classmate with a knife and a hammer. According to the investigation, on the evening of October 13, the young man himself called the police and said that he had killed an acquaintance, indicating the address of the apartment where the body was located. A few minutes later, he contacted the law enforcement officers again and stated that he intended to commit suicide, after which he gave his address.

The police went to both addresses. In one of the apartments, they found the body of a young man with six blunt force head injuries caused by a hammer and eight stab wounds. The perpetrator himself, with obvious signs of manic disorder, was found with moderate injuries. He was hospitalized.

As it turned out, before committing the crime, a young man who was fond of computer games posted an AI video of the massacre of people online. After that, he went to his friend's place. He had planned the massacre in advance and purchased the murder weapon for it.

According to preliminary data, there was no conflict between the young people. It is known that the victim and the attacker studied in the same class. The motive of the crime has not yet been officially established. In the apartment where the victim was found, investigators also found items allegedly used for drug use.

According to preliminary data, the young man who committed the crime suffered from manic disorder and had previously taken antidepressants, but at some point refused treatment. On social media, he posted disturbing and dark videos created with the help of artificial intelligence, as well as violent scenes from one of the computer games. In addition, he openly wrote about his "bad intentions" and personal problems.

As the 112 Telegram channel found out, the 19-year-old had a difficult relationship with his family. He did not communicate with his mother, and after graduation he went to St. Petersburg and never returned to Komi. Experts believe that his relatives could have noticed changes in his behavior and thus prevented the tragedy, but they did not intervene in time.

What was in the suicide note

According to the investigation, the 19-year-old young man had been preparing for the crime in advance, and he had been hatching a murder plan for several days. According to investigators, during this period he could have been rehearsing his actions in video games on virtual characters.

Investigators also found a suicide note left on a card where he portrayed himself as a mythical creature from the legends of the Komi people — the forest man Yag-Mort, known for his malice and bloodthirstiness. On the card, in large block letters, was written a wish that his body be cremated after death, and his belongings be given to a certain Nikita. There was a signature at the bottom, and there was a knife next to it. It has not yet been clarified who Nikita is, who is mentioned in the note.

The tragedy in the Angara region: a teenager killed a girl and her neighbor

This is not the only recent tragic incident among teenagers.

Another tragedy occurred recently in the Irkutsk region. In Shelekhov, a 14-year-old teenager killed his girlfriend out of jealousy, and then dealt with her neighbor, who tried to come to the rescue. The incident occurred on the evening of October 12 in one of the residential buildings of the city.

According to the investigation, the student came to the girl with a knife taken from home. There was a quarrel between them, during which the young man struck several blows. According to the suspect himself, at first the girl tried to take the weapon away from him, accidentally cut herself, and then screamed. Frightened, he continued to strike. A 23-year-old neighbor ran out to the screams, she tried to intervene and stop the teenager, but he attacked her as well. Both victims were taken to the hospital, they could not be saved, they died from their injuries.

The teenager was detained by a man who happened to be nearby and managed to neutralize the attacker before the police arrived. According to the investigation, the cause of the crime was jealousy. The young man, a student of the ninth grade, painfully perceived the relationship with his lover, the eighth-grader Vasilina. According to classmates, Ivan was introverted, hardly communicated with others and completely focused on his relationship with a girl who, on the contrary, was distinguished by good academic performance and an active school life.

The teenager's parents claim that their son did not hide his feelings and was even proud of them. During the interrogation, he confessed that he was very jealous of Vasilina and suspected her of treason. The prosecutor's office is currently conducting an investigation, and the teenager is under investigation for the murder of two or more people.

The psychology of adolescent breakdown

Adolescence is a period of intense physiological, cognitive, and emotional changes. Against this background, internal conflicts escalate, a feeling of loneliness arises, which can develop into aggression directed both at oneself and others.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in seven adolescents aged 10-19 years is confronted with mental disorders, among which anxiety, depression and behavioral disorders are the most common.

Family and social environment have a serious impact. Teenagers who do not receive warmth and attention from their loved ones, especially if their relationship with their parents is conflicted or distant, often find themselves at risk. Where there is no support, dependence on social networks and games quickly arises, where a teenager seeks recognition and an outlet.

Psychologists note that in recent years, the digital environment has increased its impact on the psyche of adolescents. Virtual worlds, games, and violent video content often become a way to vent inner tension. However, for emotionally unstable young people, such images can transform into patterns of behavior. What is initially a fantasy or a game gradually turns into a tool for defusing aggression, and in extreme cases, into a rehearsal for real actions.

This combination is especially dangerous in the presence of mental illnesses or disorders such as manic-depressive state, anxiety and personality disorders. Discontinuation of treatment or withdrawal from antidepressants can cause a sudden collapse of the emotional background when a person loses control of himself.

Experts emphasize that the way to prevent such tragedies lies through attention, trust and early intervention. School and family should be not only a source of control, but also a supportive space where teenagers can talk about their fears and doubts without judgment.
