"We need to make films about love," 12+

Directed by Roman Mikhailov. Starring: Mark Edelstein, Maria Matzel, Alexandra Kiselyova, Illarion Marov, Chingiz Garaev, Roman Mikhailov, Illarion Marov

Director Roman Mikhailov, who began his film career in 2022, is once again turning to the genre of mockumentary, or pseudo-documentary films. He sends his characters to India, where they indulge in procrastination, the search for themselves and the meaning of life. More specifically, according to the plot, a Russian film crew arrives in Varanasi to shoot an arthouse, but plans change when the lead actor Mark falls in love with the mysterious Sveta. The city becomes a full-fledged hero of the film, and the line between fiction and reality is blurred by the director's skillful use of a handheld camera.

Roman Mikhailov has a long-standing relationship with India. He even learned Hindi. There he also worked on his "Firebird" with the same cast as in the film "We must make films about love." The latter was shown for the first time at the MIFF 2024 and received two awards - the prize of the Federation of Film Clubs in the Russian Premieres competition and the NETPAC jury prize for "reflection of tenderness in the waters of the Ganges River".

"Summer Wars", 18+

Directed by Mamoru Hosoda. Starring: Ryunosuke Kamiki, Nanami Sakuraba, Mitsuki Tanimura, Takahiro Yokokawa, Mieko Nobusawa, Mitsumi Sasaki, Takashi Kobayashi, Yoji Tanaka, Kiyomi Tanigawa, Hashiya Nakamura

Mamoru Hosoda's 2009 sci-fi anime hit "Summer Wars" is returning to Russian cinemas. This is a beautiful story about a schoolboy genius Kenji Koisho, who, along with his classmate Natsuki, goes to the village for her great-grandmother's 90th birthday. After solving a complex mathematical problem, he accidentally allows the AI virus Love Machine to disable the virtual world of OZ, which now threatens the real one.

"Summer Wars" is a synthesis of intense cyberpunk and an inspiring story about the Jinnouchi family (descendants of samurai who unite to save the planet). The anime has been awarded the Japanese Academy Award and a number of international awards. Critics call the painting a poetic reflection on the digital age, and viewers call it one of Hosoda's best works. The 2025 re-release will allow you to see the iconic anime on the big screen and re-appreciate the combination of drama, humor and visual beauty.

Barron's Bay, 18+

Directed by Evan Ari Kelman. Starring: Garrett Hedlund, Tramell Tillman, Stephen Lang, Brittany Snow, Christian Convery, Mark Menchaca

Barron's Cove is a social drama for fans of intense crime thrillers. Director Evan Ari Kelman discusses how grief can turn a person into a criminal, and the price that must be paid for the desire to restore justice at any cost.

In the story, the main character Caleb experiences the tragic death of his son. He doesn't trust the official investigation and wants to get to the bottom of the truth himself, so he steals the boy he believes was involved in his child's death. The abducted man is the son of an influential politician. The film depicts not just a crime drama, but a psychological duel: the personal against the public, man against the system, a moral quest on the verge of the law. Special attention should be paid to the camerawork of Matthew Jensen, who seemed to have glued the camera to the main character. She rushes with him, conveying a sense of hopelessness. The music of Gavin Breavick and James Newberry enhances the emotional intensity.

"Steal my Dream", 16+

Director: Hayk Kbeyan. Starring: Sofia Kashtanova, Konstantin Kryukov, Viktor Prusikov, Alina Barkalova, Juliet Stepanyan

Romantic comedy by Hayk Kbeyan, known for the films "7 Days, 7 Nights" and "Agent 044: Operation Garni". At the center of the story is the convinced skeptic Polina. After the girl decided to publicly expose the clairvoyant, she brought a curse on her. From that moment on, the beauty is haunted by a series of failures, and the only way to get everything back is to get the love of a random man. They become Ruben, a musician and a single father who almost hit her with a car.

The film in the spirit of light comedies "Love is Evil" with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black and "Kiss for Luck" with Lindsay Lohan promises to awaken nostalgia for true values — kindness, love and family intimacy.

Fluffy Fast and Furious: Grand Prix, 6+

Directed by Waldemar Fast. Starring: Gemma Arterton, Thomas Sangster, Hayley Atwell, Lenny Henry, Rob Beckett, Colin McFarlane, David Menkin, Ayesha Antoine, Guillaume Laroche, Pepe Balderrama

The creators of the German-British sports animation "Fluffy Fast and Furious" promise viewers the atmosphere of an exciting race, where courage will be at the wheel and hope at the finish line. The main character is Edda the mouse. She dreams of becoming a racing driver and saving the family fair from ruin. On the way to victory, she will have to face her idol, four—time champion Ed, who is not ready to give in to anyone.

The cartoon was created for the 50th anniversary of Europa Park, the largest entertainment center in Germany. Director Waldemar Fast combines the dynamics of motorsport with a kind story about self-belief and the support of loved ones, Oscar winner Volker Bertelman is responsible for the musical design.
