Scientific move: one and a half times more teachers will be trained for military universities
Starting in 2027, the recruitment of officers to the adjunct program — the equivalent of postgraduate studies in civilian universities — will increase by almost one and a half times. First of all, new personnel will have to replenish the scientific and teaching staff of newly created military universities - by 2034, the military department plans to open 15 new schools. Experts note that this generation of young military scientists will not only have to train and educate officers, but also comprehend the experience of special operations.
Personnel for new universities
Starting in 2027, the number of officers recruited to the adjunct faculty of Russian military universities will increase by almost one and a half times. This decision is dictated by the fact that by 2034, the Russian military department plans to open 15 new schools that will require scientific and pedagogical personnel. The increased recruitment will help solve this problem, sources in the field of military education told Izvestia.
It is expected that the applicants for admission to the adjunct school will be officers who participated and were injured during a special military operation, the interlocutors of the publication noted.
Officers with at least higher education (specialty or master's degree) are accepted to the adjunct school. A prerequisite for applicants is the experience of military service in officer positions for at least two years. Age should allow signing a contract for military service not only for the duration of training in the adjunct school, but also for five years after graduation.
The country now needs military scientific and teaching staff, military expert Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia.
—More than ten years ago, there was a severe reduction in military schools, and with them, teaching staff," he explained. — This was a serious damage to the military education system, and it needs to be repaired, teachers trained, and only the adjunct can do this. Do not forget about the creation of new military schools — they also need teachers.
Military experts believe that officers with military training experience will strengthen the teaching staff.
"Combat officers will become a worthy example for the younger generation,— Viktor Litovkin believes. — Teaching is inextricably linked with education. The role of adjuncts after they become teachers will be great. They will have to teach cadets not only purely military disciplines, but also national subjects, including history. In this way, they will influence the worldview of the cadets.
The participants of the special operation have something to share with the youth, Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev, associate professor at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told Izvestia.
— They have enough authority, knowledge and skills to become an example for the younger generation, — the expert noted.
The scientific approach
The new scientific and teaching staff will have to not only train and educate future officers, but also comprehend the combat experience of military conflicts in recent years, Alexander Perendzhiev also noted.
"The Russian Armed Forces have gained a unique victorious front—line experience, and now it needs to be researched and systematized," the expert explained. — The nature of the fighting has changed a lot during the war. The participants of the special operation in the study of changes should play one of the main roles, as they took part in the battles, saw everything and went through a lot. Their personal experience is invaluable and unique — they know better than others what new threats have appeared, how to counteract them, how to effectively conduct military operations, and how to achieve their goals.
New scientific and teaching staff will give a new impetus to the development of Russian military thought, Alexander Perendzhiev believes.
— We will definitely see scientific papers on solving certain tactical problems faced by the troops during the special operation, — Alexander Perendzhiev is sure. — A generation of front-line soldiers will have to do this. I am sure there will be many dissertations on the use of UAVs. Naval officers will work on the doctrine of using unmanned boats and countering them. One way or another, the actions of tanks, artillery, combat aircraft, logistics services, and others have changed. This will also be thoroughly analyzed. Most likely, on the basis of such work, the combat regulations will be finalized. As a result, we will get a practical result — an improvement in the tactics of our armed forces.
New military schools
Izvestia wrote that the Ministry of Defense is discussing a plan according to which 15 new universities will be opened in 2025-2034. The decision to create two military schools has already been made. The Saratov Higher Military Engineering School of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection and the Nizhny Novgorod Higher Military Engineering School will open this year. The preparation of academic buildings for the admission of cadets in the new academic year is currently being completed there.
Izvestia also reported on plans to create a higher military school for unmanned systems troops, which is scheduled to open on September 1, 2027. The new educational institution will train officers for the unmanned systems troops being created, which need commanders and competent technical specialists. There have not yet been any specialized universities for the training of officers for the newly created unmanned systems troops in Russia.
