"And the dawns here are quiet...", 18+

On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, which is dedicated to one of the most tragic episodes in the history of Russia — the anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Boris Vasiliev's famous novel "And the dawns here are Quiet ..." will come to life on the Stage of the Melnikov. On paper, the writer reproduced the horror that he himself is familiar with — as a young man he volunteered for the front, fought near Smolensk and was seriously concussed. He wrote a tragic story about five anti-aircraft gunners and their foreman in 1969. Later, it was filmed by Stanislav Rostotsky, also a participant in the Great Patriotic War. His work has become a classic.

Anton Okoneshnikov, a young director of the Alexandrinsky Theater, took over the new production at the Konstantin Bogomolov Theater, for whom this is his debut on the Moscow stage. He puts the story in a modern context, complementing the theatrical action with cinematic language: a live camera constantly accompanies the characters and transmits their emotions in close-up to the screen.

But the creators are not trying to impress with the spectacle and wow-effects. The production focuses on the fate of people whose voices echo the universal catastrophe, preserving the memory of the heroism of the dead and survivors, telling today's viewers about the sacrifices it cost the country to stand up to the bloody face of fascism.

The festival once again relies not only on music, but also on the atmosphere. This summer, the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve will turn into a large open-air amusement park with attractions and a 16-meter Ferris wheel. Among the participants are FEDUK, SLAVA MARLOW, Zoloto, LSP, Bravo and Valery Syutkin, as well as a special guest Dmitry Malikov. The program is complemented by a design market, gastronomic projects and family activities. The highlight of the festival is a rare combination of pop culture in all its forms: music, gastronomy, design and entertainment.

What to watch

"Pressure", 18+

A war drama about the events leading up to the Allied landings in Normandy on June 6, 1944, the largest amphibious operation of the Second World War, which paved the way for the liberation of Western Europe. The plot centers on British meteorologist James Stagg, who has to make a forecast on which the success of the plan and the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers depend. This is a story about the price of decisions made just hours before surgery.

The main role is played by Andrew Scott, whom the modern viewer remembers, in particular, in the image of Moriarty in Sherlock. Brendan Fraser, best known for the Mummy trilogy, plays General Dwight Eisenhower, and Billions star Damian Lewis plays British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery.

"Memory is in the book. No statute of limitations", 18+

From the first emotional pamphlets of wartime to documentary evidence of fascism: punitive operations and mass killings of civilians, abduction into slavery and genocide. The exhibition explores the evolution of understanding the scale of the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices in the occupied territory of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War through preserved books and newspapers of that time. These things are evidence that preserves the memory of the heroic deed and courage of the Soviet people and will not allow them to rewrite the past, close their eyes to a tragedy that has no statute of limitations. The exhibition was prepared by the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the State Public Historical Library of Russia.

"The window in which... The Vlasov-Shishmareva Collection, 18+

The exhibition offers a look at the history of Russian art through the fate of one family. The center features three generations of Vlasov—Shishmareva dynasty artists, whose work is united by one motif: the window of the family home in Komarovo, which has become a symbol of the meeting of the artist's inner world with a changing reality. The exhibition brought together about 150 works by representatives of the dynasty, as well as artists from their circle: Valentin Serov, Boris Grigoriev, Vladimir and Sarah Lebedev, and others. Together they create a holistic portrait of the era.

Historic rally, 0+

Soviet Volga, Moskvichi, Zaporozhets, Pobedy and other cars from the 1930s and 1980s will take part in the Moscow Cup in the historic rally. The first stage of the competition is held under the auspices of the Polytechnic Museum. In total, about a hundred carriages will pass through the streets of the capital during the four-hour route. Which one will be the first is kept secret. The team on the oldest old man in the automotive industry will receive the honorary starting number 1.
