Trump announced the development of the conflict in Ukraine in favor of Russia
At a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, US President Donald Trump made it clear that, in his opinion, the conflict in Ukraine is developing in favor of Russia. This was reported on March 15 by the Financial Times newspaper, citing sources.
Merz, who met with Trump at the White House on March 3, arrived with maps and graphs, trying to convince the American leader to increase pressure on Russia. However, as the newspaper notes, Trump has not shown much interest in a detailed discussion of the situation around the conflict.
According to the Financial Times, the American president continues to hold the view that Ukraine is weakening, while Russia retains its power.
On March 14, Trump announced his surprise at the unwillingness of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to make a deal. According to him, it is much more difficult to negotiate with the Ukrainian president than with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 2 that Moscow remains open to negotiations with the United States to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, even amid the escalation with Iran.
