The Tutu travel booking service is negotiating the purchase of Trivio, one of the largest travel resources, Izvestia has learned. The value of the transaction is estimated at 7-8 billion rubles. The service's entry into the business travel market is associated with the consolidation of the industry, as well as its growth. By the end of 2025, it increased by 14% in money compared to a year earlier, the Union of Business Tourism Agencies (SAD) estimated. What changes can be expected in the business travel market — in the Izvestia article.

Tutu may enter business travel

A deal worth 8 billion rubles is being prepared in the Russian tourism market. The Tutu travel booking service is negotiating the purchase of Trivio's travel resource, a source close to Trivio told Izvestia, and an interlocutor familiar with Tutu's plans confirmed. The co-owner of another major tour operator also knows that the business travel service has been for sale for a long time. A Trivio representative declined to comment. Tutu did not respond to a request.

The deal is worth 7-8 billion rubles, and the companies intend to close it in the first half of 2026, said a source close to Izvestia's travel resource.

Tutu is a Russian online platform in the field of travel and transportation services, launched in 2003 by graduates of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University Dmitry Khrapov and Yuri Titov. Initially, the project was created as a reference resource with train schedules, after which it was consistently expanded to a full-fledged ticket search and purchase service. In 2022, the service opened hotel and apartment reservations. The revenue of the main legal entity of the service, New Tourism Technologies (NTT), amounted to 9.6 billion rubles by the end of 2024 (the latest available data), which is a quarter more than a year earlier, according to its RAS reporting. Net profit for the same period decreased by 5%, to 519 million rubles.

Trivio is a business trip management service for corporate clients. It was founded in 2020. His clients include large Russian and European companies, including Lukoil, National Project Construction, OTP Bank, and the developer Aeroplane, according to the company's website. The total revenue of the two legal entities of the service, Trivio and Trivio Service, amounted to 776.3 million rubles by the end of 2024, which is almost twice as much as in 2023, according to RAS reports. Trivio's net profit increased 12.6 times over the same period, to 12.6 million rubles, and Trivio Service increased 5.8 times, to 9.4 million, according to the organizations' reports.

How the travel services market is changing

The sale of Trivio is due to the fact that strategic investors have a "bad idea" of working in this business, says the co-owner of a large tour operator, who knows about this from top managers of the service. According to him, the business travel market is "quite specific and low-margin," and investors "do not have a complete understanding" of working in the travel management company (TMC) segment.

The interest of the travel booking service in this area of business is due to the opportunity to enter a new niche for it, where other large travel services are actively increasing their presence, said a top manager of one of these travel companies. The co-owner of the tour operator agrees with this, pointing to the increased consolidation of the market by major players. The companies are striving to include travel services for business travelers in their product line, the representative of the Aero Club also confirmed.

In the summer of 2025, Yandex Travel acquired the Akadem-Online hotel booking service for business tourism. Last October, Avito Travel entered into a partnership with Aeroclub, a business travel service provider.

According to the representative of the latter, this natural trend is associated with a change in the consumer model among Russians. The traveler of generation Z is familiar with the consumption model offered by marketplaces. The acquisition of Wildberries & Russ by the Fun&Sun operator is a "vivid example" of this direction, said a company representative. The fact that Alexey Mordashov's Severgroup sold the largest Russian tour operator to the united company Wildberries & Russ (RVB LLC), Izvestia wrote in October 2025.

The purchase of Trivio also meets the interests of the new owner, the co-owner of the tour operator believes. In 2024, Tutu's ownership structure changed. RBC sources attributed this to the acquisition of the service by Alfa-Bank structures. Izvestia sent a request to a representative of the bank.

In 2020, the Tutu Business Trips B2B project was launched, Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline Analytics, recalled. However, ambitious goals could not be achieved, and in 2023 the corporate direction was curtailed. The acquisition of Trivio will allow us to immediately take a "strong position" in the business travel segment with a focus on the most demanded business options — integration with HR and accounting systems, as well as optimizing travel expenses, the expert noted.

By the end of 2025, the turnover of the business tourism market amounted to 1.2 trillion rubles, which is 14% more than a year earlier, said Dmitry Gorin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Business Tourism Agencies. First of all, the growth is observed in monetary terms. According to the expert, this is due to rising prices for flights and accommodation, as well as general inflation.

In 2026, the capacity of the business travel market in monetary terms may decrease due to cost optimization, Mikhail Burmistrov believes. This year, the business will continue to pay more attention to the quality and duration of business trips, the representative of the Aero Club is sure. Companies have adapted to the new conditions and are striving to combine cost control with reasonable investments in the efficiency of business trips, he added.
