For the first time, the Russian video hosting company Rutube overtook YouTube in terms of the number of viewers per day in Russia, gathering 23.8 million viewers against 22.3 million from a foreign platform. This was announced on December 9 by the press service of the Russian platform, citing data from the analytical company Mediascope.

"Rutube has surpassed YouTube in terms of daily audience in Russia for the first time — 23.8 million against 22.3 million people," the Rutube Telegram channel says.

The company regarded this indicator as evidence of an increase in audience trust and a shift in user preferences towards the domestic platform. Rutube positions this achievement as the result of the joint work of the video hosting team and viewers.
