The European Commission's (EC) plan to expropriate (forcibly seize) frozen assets of Russia threatens the bankruptcy of the Euroclear clearing organization, and it will be challenged in court. This was announced on December 5 by the head of the depository, Valerie Urbain.
"In the form in which it is presented today, the decision on assets that is on the negotiating table is unrealistic," she said in an interview with RTBF TV channel.
