Russian cyclist Burlakova was added to the Peacemaker database
Russian track cyclist and world champion Yana Burlakova has been included in the database of the Ukrainian extremist website Peacemaker. The information was posted on the resource on December 3.
The athlete is accused of allegedly "encroaching on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," as well as participating in the Russia — Sports Power forum.
Yana Burlakova is 25 years old. She is the 2024 world champion in the 500 m backstroke, and in 2025 she managed to win the European sprint title. She also has two silver and one bronze medals at the World Championships and three bronze medals at the European Championships.
Prior to that, on November 27, several former Russian athletes entered the Peacemaker database, including midfielder Denis Glushakov and former national basketball team forward Sergei Monya. Vitaly Prokhorov, the winner of the 1992 Olympic Hockey Games as part of the United Team, was also included in the list. All of them were charged with allegedly "encroaching on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
