- Waltz pointed to the United States' unwillingness to allow others to set global standards.
Cooperation with the United Nations (UN) and its structures is necessary for the United States to prevent Russia and China from defining global standards. This was announced on November 3 by the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations Mike Waltz.
"We need to make a choice. We just step aside and let China and Russia and all the other countries set global standards, or we interfere, block and fight for our companies and for the "America First" agenda," Waltz said in an interview with Breitbart.
He stressed that if Washington does not actively participate in international politics, Russia, China and the European Union (EU) will establish rules that will subsequently "influence the United States."
At the same time, according to Waltz, the American side should participate more in the work of international organizations in order to protect its economic and political interests.
On November 3, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during an official visit to China, said that relations between Russia and China had reached, despite the sanctions, "the highest level." He added that the format of interaction between the parties ensures effective coordination of all executive authorities in the spirit of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.
