US President Donald Trump will abandon further initiatives to resolve the conflict in Ukraine if he decides that a deal between Kiev and Moscow is impossible. This was announced on December 8 by the US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker on Fox News channel.

"If President Trump decides that a deal is impossible, he will back out of it, which, as you know, is in his nature," he said.
