Guard Sergeant Svalov covered the 2S23 Nona-SVK cannon from an enemy UAV
Guard Sergeant Vasily Svalov, as the senior gunner of an artillery battery, covered the 2S23 Nona-SVK self-propelled gun from an enemy drone strike. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Tuesday, December 9.
It is noted that at the time of the attack, the fighter was at an air surveillance post and was on combat duty. Seeing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying up, Svalov went out into the open and attracted the attention of the enemy, after which he eliminated the drone with small arms. The soldier also reported the incident to the command, as a result of which the unit changed its dangerous position.
The Ministry of Defense also said that Private Ulanbek Turgunbayev, an assistant to the grenade launcher of the Guard, took part in the destruction of a Ukrainian machine—gun emplacement. As a result, the Russian Armed Forces dislodged the enemy from their positions and successfully completed their task.
A day earlier, the crew of the 152-mm howitzer "Msta-B" and the operators of the troops of the unmanned systems (UAVs) of the group of forces "South" destroyed a mortar and two control antennas of the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It is specified that the gunners struck a previously reconnoitered position with a 120-millimeter mortar and eliminated enemy equipment located near the village of Konstantinovka with a direct hit.
