Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, agreed with American entrepreneur Elon Musk that European civilization is moving towards oblivion. He wrote about this on December 6 in the comments to Musk's post and on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"Not just walking, but rushing," Dmitriev clarified.

Earlier, Musk commented on a message on the social network by Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of the American company Palantir, that European civilization is heading for extinction due to "tribes" ruining it, unfair judges and the dismantling of power plants. Musk noted that Europe is "sleepwalking into oblivion." Lonsdale also compared the current state of affairs to the late Roman Empire.

On December 6, Musk called for the elimination of the European Union (EU) and the return of sovereignty to individual member states. The businessman noted that the bureaucracy in Europe is "slowly strangling" European countries. He also wondered what exactly the United States is protecting the European Union from.
