The new American National Security Strategy (NSS) indicates that the United States will cease to support European states if they come into conflict with the Russian Federation. This was announced on December 6 by former US Army intelligence officer, analyst Scott Ritter in an interview with Sputnik.

"The deep meaning of the document is to make it clear that the United States will not save Europe if it eventually provokes a conflict with Russia," the analyst said.

Ritter noted that in the new geopolitical calculation, Europe poses a great threat to the whole world and to itself. According to him, the policy of European countries towards Russia is incompatible with the goals of the national security of the United States.
