A literary and musical celebration "Victory with Orchestra" was held in Moscow
On December 6, a literary and musical celebration, the Victory with Orchestra concert, dedicated to the Heroes of the Fatherland, took place in Moscow. During the celebration, the merits of the Heroes of the Fatherland in prose, poetry and songs were listed, and the results of several creative contests were summed up, including among the authors of works about the war.
The event was also attended by Izvestia military commander Dmitry Zimenkin, who combined his experience in the chronicle of military events "Diary Z". He recorded a video message with a greeting.
"We talk to the guys, and I understand that there are a lot of young people among them. A 19-year—old, and he's already a commander. I had some idea that our younger generation seemed to be very far from such patriotic, bookish ideals that we grew up on, on Soviet films and books. A lot has changed over the years, including thanks to the authors who write about the war, who show it," said Zimenkin.
Among the authors at the concert were the participants of the special military operation (SVO). Guards Lieutenant Sergei Lobanov wrote his first lines for a seriously injured friend to support him. The recording leaked online and garnered millions of views. Today, he delivered a poignant piece, "We are Not Heroes," and explained why he thinks so.
"The poem tells us that we, the participants in the special military operation, do not consider ourselves any heroes. We are doing what we have to do because we swore allegiance to our Fatherland, we love our Fatherland, and, of course, we have shoulder straps on our shoulders, and this obliges us to a lot," Lobanov stressed.
Earlier, on December 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a speech at the We Are Together forum, announced that more than 600,000 volunteers had joined the work to support the participants of his organization. He also stressed that the participants of the SVO are an excellent example for the whole country, especially for young people who see them as real heroes.
