The media reported on the DPRK sending thousands of troops to Russia
North Korea is sending about 5,000 troops to Russia to restore infrastructure. This was reported on November 4 by the Yonhap news agency with reference to the National Intelligence Service of South Korea.
"About 5,000 North Korean military construction units have been consistently relocated to Russia since September and are expected to be mobilized to restore infrastructure," the agency said in a statement.
In addition, according to the intelligence service, about 1,000 more engineers from the DPRK will be involved in mine clearance.
Earlier, on October 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee, said that Russia would never forget the exploits of North Korean soldiers and officers in the Kursk region. He added that these feats will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and historical community between Russia and the DPRK in the common struggle for justice.
