- In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a fake lawyer deceived a pensioner for almost 1 million rubles.
In the city of Nazarovo, Krasnoyarsk Territory, a fake lawyer deceived a pensioner for almost 1 million rubles. This was reported by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
It is noted that an elderly woman received a call from a man who introduced himself as a lawyer and began talking about an alleged attempt to steal her funds. Despite her appeals to the bank and the police, where the woman was dissuaded from transferring money, the victim was convinced by the fraudster.
"Despite warnings from bank employees and the police, the victim nevertheless withdrew her savings from the account — 780 thousand rubles. After receiving the money, the woman handed it over to a courier in a taxi car, who arrived at her address," the department's Telegram channel said.
A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed on a large scale").
Earlier, on October 22, in Moscow, an 81-year-old man became a victim of telephone fraud and lost more than 30.2 million rubles. It is noted that the criminals acted according to the classical scheme: they presented themselves as employees of financial organizations and law enforcement agencies, frightened the pensioner with "suspicion of transferring money abroad" and threats of confiscation of property.
