Parking in Moscow will be free during the November holidays
Parking in Moscow will be free on November 3 and 4 in honor of National Unity Day. This was announced on Thursday, October 27, by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
Parking fees will not be required on all city streets, including those with tariffs of 380, 450 and 600 rubles per hour, as well as in the zones of the dynamic tariff. However, parking lots with a barrier will continue to operate as usual, Sobyanin noted.
In Russia, National Unity Day is celebrated every year on November 4. This holiday was established by a law passed on December 29, 2004, which amended the law on military Glory Days. From October 27 to November 1, citizens will work six days a week, and Saturday, November 1, will be shorter than usual, as it is a public holiday.
On October 17, it became known that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is studying the issue of introducing post-payment for parking sessions. On October 2, it was reported that owners of two-wheeled vehicles and electric vehicles can now park them for free in paid parking lots in the Moscow Region. For this, an application must be submitted for their inclusion in the register.
