On October 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russians on the Day of the Agricultural and Processing Industry Worker.

"Dear friends! I congratulate you on the occasion of the Agricultural and Processing Industry Worker's Day. Your hard, responsible work on the land, in the fields, at the enterprises of the agro—industrial complex traditionally enjoys special respect and honor in Russia," he said.

In addition, the President of the Russian Federation noted that in recent years the achievements of the Russian agro-industrial complex have become a matter of national pride. According to him, record harvests of rice and oilseeds were harvested in Russia last year, and the grain harvest was among the top five in the country's recent history. In addition, Putin noted that the production of livestock and poultry has also updated the maximum values.

"Today, Russia not only confidently provides itself with food, but is also one of the main suppliers of food to the global market. Our high—quality products — grain, vegetable oils, fish, confectionery and other goods - are known and loved in more than 160 countries around the world," Putin said.

He added that the growth of production, exports and the renewal of capacities is the merit of the workers of this industry. The Russian President specified that the state would continue to create conditions for the further development of the agricultural sector, strengthening domestic developments and introducing digital technologies.

"All this is designed to increase the efficiency of the industry and make it even more technologically advanced. One of the most important issues here is the training of personnel for the industry and agricultural science," the Russian president said.

In addition, he added that today, agrotourism is gaining popularity among Russian citizens and foreign guests, which allows them to get to know more about the domestic traditions of baking bread, making sweets, dairy products and winemaking, while learning about the history of the country.

Earlier, on October 8, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at the ceremony of awarding state awards to workers of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) within the framework of the XXVII Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition Golden Autumn, stated that food security is one of the most important national goals of the Russian Federation.
