Bild revealed new details of the attack on Mayor Herdecke
The suspect in the attack on the newly elected mayor of the German city of Herdecke, Iris Stalzer, is her 17—year-old adopted daughter. The girl tortured her foster mother in the basement for several hours. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on October 10.
"Iris Stalzer told the police how it all happened: her adopted daughter tortured her for hours in the basement of her own house," the tabloid writes.
It is reported that the motive of the attack is unknown, but the girl said that she wanted to take revenge in this way. The suspect tried to set fire to her adoptive mother's hair and clothes with deodorant and a lighter. Exactly how Stalzer got from the basement to the living room remains unknown.
The publication clarified that one of the knives involved in the attack was found in the backpack of Stalzer's 15-year-old adopted son. As the newspaper pointed out, relations between family members were tense.
On October 8, it became known that the attack on Iris Stalzer could have been committed by her 17-year-old adopted daughter. It was reported that the police found clothes covered in blood in the mayor's house. Presumably, it belongs to her adopted daughter. The police also found traces of blood, which, allegedly, someone tried to eliminate before the arrival of emergency services.
The attack on Mayor Herdecke became known on October 7. According to Focus, Stalzer received a total of 13 stab wounds to her stomach and back. At that time, it was alleged that the mayor was attacked by a group of men on the street, and after the incident she managed to crawl to her house, where her children discovered the Stalzer.
