Scientists from Krasnoyarsk have developed the first of its kind unique installation for creating products from aluminum alloys by the method of ingotless rolling. It can produce new products from molten metal, including aluminum waste. The reuse of industrial waste significantly reduces the cost of manufacturing long—length aluminum products - rods, wire, and others.

"We have applied for two patents, as the method and device for ingotless rolling and pressing of aluminum alloy rods have been developed for the first time," Sergey Sidelnikov, Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Metalworking at the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals of the Siberian Federal University, told Izvestia.

The technology will be economically beneficial to industrial enterprises, experts told Izvestia. It will help to save energy, speed up casting and rolling, reducing the time for these processes. It also allows the use of industrial waste in the form of rods and shavings, which significantly reduces the costs of enterprises.
